The Lobethal Bierhaus opened for business on 26th May 2007. Our operation includes a small all-grain micro brewery with accompanying cellar door tasting facilities, off-license bottle sales and a restaurant / beer garden (licensed for up to 200 people) with matching beer themed foods built around unique local produce. Our location, Lobethal in the rolling countryside of the Adelaide Hills, is easily accessible, being just 45 minutes from Adelaide’s City centre and on the tourist trail to many local attractions.
We produce a number of multi-award winning hand crafted character beers with 12 different beer styles available on tap in our restaurant at any one time. See Our Beers page for descriptions of the beers available. Our restaurant also sells a range of local Adelaide Hills wines, ciders, soft drinks tea and coffee.
Our brew house and the core equipment we use is on full view to our restaurant. A visit to our brewery also includes an introduction to the considerable history of brewing in our local area (dating back to the 1850’s), visual displays summarising how our beer is made, and an opportunity to taste great beer in a family friendly environment.
BUSHFIRE UPDATE: Posted on the Lobethal Bierhaus facebook page on January 14, 2020.
To all of our friends, customers (many of whom are now close friends) and to all of the new visitors to our region in the past two weeks.
Rosie and I have been simply overwhelmed by your recent support.
Thank you so much.
Whilst we consider ourselves to be among the very lucky ones, with both our Lobethal home and our brewery/restaurant having survived the bushfires, our loss of trade most certainly has had a challenging impact on us. By returning to our region in recent weeks you have given us (and we are certain many of our Adelaide Hills neighbours, often far less fortunate than us) the opportunity to begin to rebuild.
For those of you who came to our January 4th Hills Fundraising Music Concert arranged by local musician Matt Hawkins and his partner Caroline, in which many local musicians kindly donated their time, this event alone raised in excess of $8,000 for the CFS and Bushfire Relief.
Many thanks to our good friend Neil Macdonald who organised lunch for 100 friends last Saturday. An additional $800 in donations for the CFS were raised on the day.
And last but not least, thank you also to our Bank, ANZ, for its understanding and support.
Al & Rosie.
Please show your support for the Lobethal community and Lobethal Bierhaus by enjoying a meal and a tasting paddle of beer at the brewery. You can also purchase Lobethal Bierhaus beer at every good bottle shop.
