From Blue Cheese to Brie, Chevre to Camembert, Udder Delights is passionate about making, sharing and eating cheese. Our handmade artisan products are lovingly created at our cheese factory in Lobethal, in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Working with South Australian dairies, from the Hills to the Fleurieu Peninsula, we value our relationships with local producers.
Our love of all things cheese goes way back and it was Trevor Dunford, and his late wife Estelle, who established Udder Delights as a goat cheese factory in Lobethal, in 1999. The couple’s daughter, Sheree, and her husband, Saul Sullivan, lead and helped build Udder Delights into a renowned and respected company, delighting cheese-loving customers Australia-wide. Today, the company is proud to sell a range of products including its flagship regional goat and cowmilk cheeses, and other tempting items to challenge the palate. We love to meet our customers, so please join us at our Hahndorf-based cheese cellar for breakfast, lunch or a snack. How does a truffled cheddar toastie or Ploughman’s board sound? Even more decadent is our cellar speciality, cheese fondue — our take on the Swiss classic.
For those looking for a meal worthy of royalty, try King Saul – the Raw Experience, where you’ll enjoy Australia’s first unpasteurised blue cheese handcrafted by our head cheese maker, and Udder Delight’s managing director, Saul Sullivan.
If you’re looking for a fun afternoon out, we offer a deluxe high-tea option which, of course, includes some of our delicious cheeses (like goat curd and Brie), sparkling wine and yummy desserts.
And if you’ve been thinking about making your own cheese, try one of our cheesemaking classes. Udder Delight’s chief executive Sheree Sullivan has been guiding students at these classes since 2007.
We also understand that people’s obsession with cheese extends to big events such as weddings and special events. That’s why we are proud to offer cheese wedding cakes — literally celebration towers of cheese — which are a wonderful alternative to traditional wedding desserts. You can use one of our designs, like the Brie Quince Paste Torte, or create your own wedding cake.
BUSHFIRE UPDATE & HOW YOU CAN HELP: If you can’t join us at the cellar door, our products are stocked at a range of retailers across SA and Australia.
