Adelaide is a city designed for life. Shaped by stories, old and new.
The first stories were created by the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains. These stories are now interwoven with those of all the people who choose to live, work, study or spend time in the city.
Each story is unique because what holds or draws someone to Adelaide is different for each person. But the common thread is the place that has its origins with a visionary named Colonel William Light, who thoughtfully and purposefully designed our city from the start with its people’s wellbeing in mind.
The city is hugged in a glorious green embrace by over 9.4 square kilometres of Park Lands, creating the world’s only ‘city in a park’. A place with a pioneering spirit, where community and commerce flourish in balance with nature and where people’s wellbeing comes first.
A place where we can each call our own and celebrate as a welcoming city with an inclusive future.
